The registration area will be outside of Opening Ceremonies in the SSLH Building. Please consult the map below for the location. The SPSS Parking Garage is the best place to park on campus. Please be advised that parking is $10 per day so we highly recommend car pooling. We apologize, but we were unable to get any type of waiver on parking.
We look forward to seeing all of you this Saturday!

Dear Advisers,
First of all, I want to sincerely apologize for the delay in posting the background guides. They are now posted on the website (http://ocmun.weebly.com/) under the ‘Fall 2011’ drop-down menu. Because of the delay, the position paper deadline has been changed to Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 11:59pm P.S.T. Please have your delegates submit them to orangecountymun@gmail.com. Please consult the delegate preparation guide for specific formatting requirements. Please do not e-mail them to the committee e-mail addresses. Position papers must be received by this deadline to be eligible for research awards. If a delegate misses the deadline, they can bring a full position paper to the conference and still be eligible for individual awards.
As you know, the conference will be at the University of California, Irvine (UCI). The conference rooms will be located in the Social Science area of UCI. The locations of registration and opening ceremonies will be posted to the front page of the website as soon as possible. The full schedule will also be posted in the near future under the ‘Schedule’ section of the ‘Fall 2011’ conference link. Lunch will not be provided by the conference; however, there is a wide variety of choices for lunch in and around UCI. There will be a map in the conference program. Lunch will last 90 minutes so delegates have plenty of time.
Just a reminder, conference fees are $30 per delegate. If you need an invoice, please let me know and I will e-mail you one. Conference fees can be submitted via check and are due October 7, 2011 to the University of California, Irvine (UCI). Checks should be made payable to “Model United Nations, UCI” and can be mailed to:
Model United Nations, UCI
3151 Social Sciences Plaza A
Irvine, CA 92697-5100
If you wish to add any additional country assignments, please feel free to e-mail me at orangecountymun@gmail.com. Please consult the matrix on the website for the committee assignments for each country. There are plenty of assignments still available so if you have not registered and would still like to do so, please e-mail me.
Finally, we have had a change in the Senior Secretariat for OCMUN 2011. Stephanie Romano resigned from her position for personal reasons. We wish Stephanie the best and thank her for all she has done in the conference preparation progress. We are excited to welcome Matthew Johnson as the new Under Secretary-General. Ingrid Huizar will be serving as the new Director-General and I will be serving as your Secretary-General.
As the conference gets closer, please feel free to e-mail me with any questions or concerns. I look forward to seeing you all at OCMUN 2011!
Sincerely,
Mark Edwards
